When it can’t wait, the whole city hears it.
A normal duty widens from 30 km, hour by hour. An emergency request skips the wait and reaches verified staff in that role across the city the moment you raise it.
Faster reach. Exactly the same checks.
An emergency changes who hears about the duty and how quickly. It doesn't change who is allowed to take it, or how it starts and ends.
| Aspect | Normal duty | Emergency request |
|---|---|---|
| Who sees it first | Verified staff in that role within 30 km | Verified staff in that role across the city |
| How the reach grows | 5 km every hour, up to 75 km | No waiting: city-wide from the first second |
| Verification | Verified staff only | Verified staff only. Nothing is skipped |
| Starting the duty | Start code from your desk, inside 100 m | Start code from your desk, inside 100 m |
| Closing the duty | End code your desk enters | End code your desk enters |
What happens on each side.
The same four steps as any duty, with the clock taken out.
Your hospital
- 1Raise the duty as an emergency request.
- 2Watch for the first acceptance, then follow them on the map.
- 3Read out the start code at the desk when they arrive.
- 4Enter their end code to close it, then rate.
Staff nearby
- 1An emergency offer arrives, marked in red, with the total and distance.
- 2The first to accept gets it, and heads straight there.
- 3Ask the desk for the start code within 100 m of the hospital.
- 4At the end, read the SMS end code to the desk.
One switch on the same form.
An emergency request is posted from the same place as any duty. Switch on Emergency request and it goes city-wide at once.
How posting worksEmergency requests, answered.

When should we use an emergency request?
When a gap can't wait for the offer to widen on its own: a sudden absence on a night shift, an unexpected surge in casualty, or cover needed within the hour. For anything planned, a normal duty is usually enough.
Does an emergency skip verification?
No. Emergency requests only reach verified staff in the role you asked for, and the duty still starts with a start code inside the 100 m geofence and closes with an end code your desk enters.
